Professional Headshot | Canton Actress

Planning

Prior to Emily’s professional headshot session, we emailed and talked on the phone about the kind of headshots she wanted to create. Because she’s an actress and wanted to use these images for future acting gigs, she needed them to be fun and not super posed or stiff. We talked about colors and types of clothing to bring that would work best.

Professional headshot session

I walked Emily around my studio when she arrived. We talked about the different backgrounds before we got started. Her session was super laid back. I guided her through poses and then we chatted so she didn’t constantly have a camera pointed at her. We moved through many poses in front of my white background. We decided this was the backdrop in which she would stand out the best. I loaded the images onto my laptop and we reviewed them together. Emily selected the headshots she wanted to purchase.

Although Emily’s makeup and hair were flawless, I retouched the images while she waited. I wanted her to approve the edits before she left my photography studio. There were some fly away hairs to remove and retouching created more polished images for her to use. I exported the finished files for Emily to use on multiple platforms and they were in her inbox before she got into her car. Awesomeness!
