Night of Broadway Stars 2021 – Mercedes Benz Stadium

Night of Broadway Stars 2021 was hands down my favorite event of the year. But then, it normally is. They pull out all the stops, bringing in THE best Broadway stars to perform for the top supporters of Covenant House Georgia. Everyone gathers in the interest of ending homelessness for the youth experiencing it. This non-profit organization is incredible for how far they stretch dollars. But moreso, how incredibly they impact the lives of many.

Mercedes Benz stadium created social distancing space

In the past, Night of Broadway Stars has been hosted in smaller, more intimate venues. This year was by far the largest venue…Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz stadium opened their field to Covenant House Georgia to allow this major fundraising event. Which also allowed space for social distancing with those concerned about covid. It was an amazing event filled with excitement, fabulous performers, and generous souls.

When I arrived, it was daylight outside and the field was still getting set up for Night of Broadway Stars 2021. The LED screens wrapping the top of Mercedes Benz stadium below the dome windows were showing off the Atlanta Falcons highlights. As folks walked down the stairs and onto the field, the excitement was in the air and could be felt.

Photographing Night of Broadway Stars for years

I have been photographing the Night of Broadway Stars for Covenant House Georgia every year since 2016. It has given me the rewarding experience of getting to know their best supporters. And some incredibly talented broadway stars return year after year. In short, it gives me all the feels for the following week as I work on the images. Remembering the stellar performances and the boundless generosity of so many individuals and companies helps restore my faith in humanity.

Night of Broadway Stars 2021 put a smile on my face as I went to sleep every night for weeks. It made me proud to also be a supporter of the non-profit organization. They not only impact the lives of the youth experiencing homeless. Covenant House Georgia positively influences and rewards their supporters just by doing what they do. And that’s pretty awesome.
