Why Do You Chop Off Their Heads?
I hear that question sometimes. Or I see comments on facebook, stating that, “I can’t see anything above his nose.” These questions and comments make me smile. The photographs aren’t accidents. And they’re some of my favorites. They take the focus off the person (or people) as a whole and put it on the moment in time. And on the emotion in that moment. I love that photography has the ability to stop time. To preserve a memory. For a lifetime and future generations.
Do I know how to make photographs and portraits that don’t chop off heads? You betcha. And those are included, too. Because it’s important to me to tell the whole story of a wedding day. Or high school senior session. Or family portraits. But I tend to show my favorites.
