Marietta GA Courthouse Wedding – Charlotte + Andy Are Married!

I love that my couples don’t fit into a box.
They’re not traditional.
They do things their own way.
They create their own timelines and life adventures.
They break stereotypes.
They don’t take themselves too seriously.
They’re kind.
They’re quick to laugh.
They love.
Whole heartedly.
Fearlessly.
Bravely.

I first met Charlotte + Andy a little over a year ago. Charlotte was the Maid of Honor for Melissa + Phil’s wedding that I documented at the Marietta History Museum. Andy was one of Phil’s rugby buddies. A month later, I saw them again when I was photographing rugby players for a calendar for Healing Our Heroes at Melissa’s Be Wellness Center in Marietta. Melissa had originally gifted Charlotte + Andy a maternity or engagement session with me, but Charlotte asked if I could document her wedding day instead. Of course, I said YES after we looked at calendars and firmed up the date for this courthouse wedding! What an incredible gift to receive from your best friend!

Charlotte is French. Andy is British.
Together, they are perfect.

Although, Charlotte’s accent is harder to detect unless she is speaking French, Andy’s is quite strong. They are lovely and I could sit on their floor listening to them talk all day.

In another year, these two will be having their real wedding in Europe where more of their family members are able to attend and celebrate with them.

But for now, I will share the images I made documenting their wedding day as they got ready in their home in Smyrna, their wedding shared with a dozen other couples on a Saturday afternoon in the Marietta courthouse, and a glimpse into their celebration afterwards at Ormby’s downtown. Images that are unique to their day. Their home. And the darker, moodier, more contrasty variety that Charlotte has loved since seeing polaroid photogaphs growing up.

A day filled with cute and nosey puppies that needed to help their momma with makeup and hair. Who wore signs, wagged their tails non-stop, and patiently waited for table scraps and ear rubs. A day filled with soccer and score checks. A day filled with dear friends, family, and one set of parents. Walks around Marietta Square and drives between Smyrna, Marietta, back again, and downtown Atlanta. Andy gave his phone to their friend Jackie in the courthouse after setting up facetime with his sister to watch the ceremony. Technology to include family from overseas is so wonderful!
