Month Of The Military Child Festival 2014 In Marietta

At the beginning of May, I joined the National Guard in Marietta for celebrating the Military Child. It was a fun day, filled with super heroes and a bunch of kids having a blast with bounce houses, magic tricks, face painting, a petting zoo and many other fabulous activities. This kiddo hammed it up good with his Spidey senses and web casting skills!

Christine is a Wonder Woman of sorts. She is with the Georgia Army National Guard and supports the military families in our area. And once a year, she does an amazing job coordinating this festival of fun activities for as many military families can come. The planning and networking in the weeks preceding is a fabulous show of support from so many local businesses (like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Operation Homefront, Books on Bases, and so many others) and national companies (like Home Depot and Chic-Fil-A who donated food and items for giveaways).

Sergeant Simmons was also instrumental in the planning process to engage support and volunteers for making this day a success.

Enjoy some of my favorites from this fun (and hot!) day.

I enjoyed getting to see many of the same faces. Last year was a bit rainy, so I was stoked that I could set up my tent outside this year for a bit of shade and enjoy the warmer temps. (wait. earlier, I said it was hot. and it was HOT! so hot, that I went swimming afterwards in a pool that read at 66F.) And you can click over to my facebook page to see more images from this day. It was such a pleasure meeting so many of our service members and their families. I appreciate all they do to serve and protect our country! If you’re interested in photography services or sponsorship from Pear Tree Photography Atlanta, just click over to my website. I love working for a good cause and creating memorable family photographs reminding you of every day moments and life’s big events!
